We currently project approximately 50 Senior Executive vacancies every year over the next several years. The Department of Energy's SES Candidate Development Program is intended to produce a cadre of SES-ready federal employees capable of being placed non-competitively into SES vacancies. Although successful completion of the SES Candidate Development Program does not guarantee placement into an SES position, it does result in candidates developing the necessary leadership qualifications. As a member of the Department of Energy Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program, you will have a unique opportunity to develop your leadership competencies and expand your knowledge of the numerous and exciting challenges facing DOE and other similar government agencies. This training will also provide a rewarding and demanding learning experience as you interact with other high potential candidates and current executives from throughout the Federal Government.

- A 12-16 month program
- Executive Development Plan (EDP)

The Department of Energy (DOE) has a rich and diverse history with its lineage tracing back to the Manhattan Project during World War II.
Today, DOE stands at the forefront of helping the Nation meet our energy, scientific, environmental, and national security goals. These include developing and deploying new energy technologies, reducing our dependence on foreign energy sources, protecting our nuclear weapons stockpile, fulfilling our environmental cleanup obligations, and ensuring that America remains competitive in the global marketplace.
We designed this website with you in mind. We are confident that you will find the information that you need in this website, if not, you can send an e-mail to sescdp2007@hq.doe.gov and we will respond as quickly as possible.
