Eligibility Requirements
To be considered as an individual with a disability, a person must have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities, have a record of such an impairment, or be regarded as having such an impairment Applicants must also meet the qualification requirements of the position. Furthermore, they must be certified as eligible by the State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs or Gallaudet University. How to Apply For A DOE Job
Interested individuals may complete a questionnaire that will be helpful in providing them with appropriate information on DOE employment opportunities. The information contained in the questionnaire may be shared with interested DOE managers seeking individuals with disabilities under a Schedule A Hiring Authority. Additionally, interested applicants may apply for a position using the normal application process. In this case, they should submit the appropriate application and required documentation to field or Headquarters Servicing Personnel Office which services the geographical area in which they wish to work. Those applicants with disabilities who apply for DOE positions in this manner should also contact the human resource (HR) specialist listed in the job announcement and inform him/her that you have applied for the job, and of your status as a person with a disability.
