Health Insurance

Life Insurance

Eligible Federal employees can select low-cost life insurance coverage. Coverage is based on annual salary and includes payments for accidental death as well as loss of limbs and/or eyesight. For a more comprehensive overview of the Federal Employee Group Life Insurance Program (FEGLI) see:

Dental and Vision Care

Flexible Spending Accounts for Federal Employees

The Federal government's Flexible Spending Account allows employees to pay for eligible expenses with pre-tax dollars, reducing out-of-pocket costs. Three types of flexible spending accounts are available: health care flexible, limited expense health care flexible, and dependent care flexible. Physical Fitness/Health Services

The DOE encourages employees to maintain their physical well-being in a number of ways. Employee-sponsored and supported fitness centers are located on-site at a number of DOE facilities. Our fitness and health centers are staffed by professional health care providers and trainers and offer a variety of exercise courses, health seminars, and modern equipment.
