Mission Statement

To provide first-class training support to the Department of Energy.

Functions

  • Provide Training and other Learning/Development to a highly trained workforce, ready to ensure the continued safety, security, and stability of the nation's nuclear stockpile and energy resources.
  • Provide a corporate approach for designing, executing, managing, and assessing a comprehensive Department-wide learning and career development program, including:
  • Make policy recommendations on development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of DOE-wide training.
  • Produce DOE Annual Training Plan.
  • Support each DOE Element in preparing its Annual Training Plan.
  • Perform annual and ad hoc needs assessments.
  • Evaluate DOE and NNSA training instances and programs.
  • Deliver special customer needs.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise.
  • Provide Employee Development Programs.
  • Provide Technical Qualification Program Support.
  • Increase the use of OLC-2 (our Learning Management System) and the demand for on-line learning.
  • Ensure the continued competency of DOE employees, using several practices and methods, including:
  • Individual Development Plans.
  • Employee Counseling/Consulting.
  • Department/Organizational Needs Assessments.
