Mission Statement
To provide first-class training support to the Department of Energy.
Functions
- Provide Training and other Learning/Development to a highly trained workforce, ready to ensure the continued safety, security, and stability of the nation's nuclear stockpile and energy resources.
- Provide a corporate approach for designing, executing, managing, and assessing a comprehensive Department-wide learning and career development program, including:
- Make policy recommendations on development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of DOE-wide training.
- Produce DOE Annual Training Plan.
- Support each DOE Element in preparing its Annual Training Plan.
- Perform annual and ad hoc needs assessments.
- Evaluate DOE and NNSA training instances and programs.
- Deliver special customer needs.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise.
- Provide Employee Development Programs.
- Provide Technical Qualification Program Support.
- Increase the use of OLC-2 (our Learning Management System) and the demand for on-line learning.
- Ensure the continued competency of DOE employees, using several practices and methods, including:
- Individual Development Plans.
- Employee Counseling/Consulting.
- Department/Organizational Needs Assessments.
